The Supreme Court crisis shows no sign of abating.

&lt;p id='p_1'&gt;On January 24, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said that opposition parties had discussed the allegations of judicial impropriety levelled against CJI Dipak Misra by four senior most judges of the Supreme Court, and were considering moving an impeachment motion against him.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p id='p_2'&gt;Were that to happen, it would be the first time in the history of the country that an impeachment motion would be moved against the sitting Chief Justice of India.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p id='p_3'&gt;The crisis at the Supreme Court came to a head after four justices decided to address the media about their reservations with the way the CJI was functioning, including picking Justice Arun Mishra to hear the Judge Loya 'suspicious' death case. While Justice Mishra has now recused himself, the CJI, in a controversial move, has decided to hear the case himself. The crisis&amp;nbsp;has also brought focus back on the murky&amp;nbsp;Sohrabuddin Shaikh 'fake' encounter case, in which BJP chief Amit Shah was an accused but has now been discharged.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p id='p_4'&gt;However, it is not clear yet if the Congress will support the impeachment motion, and even if it does, the process is a long-drawn one.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;h1 class='heading1' data-articletitle=''&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/h1&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
