New statistics from Private Circle (MCA Filings) finally give the truth about how much the Shark Tank India judges actually invested in the deals they backed.

The numbers are for Season 1 only and analyse the number of deals the Sharks committed to (and what they ended up paying for in actuality).

Shark Namita Thapar tops the list despite the numerous memes of her saying "I'm out". She committed to 22 deals and honoured 13 of them with her total spending being Rs 7 crore.

Boat speakers founder Aman Gupta iranks second, spending Rs 3 crore for 12 deals (out of the 28 deals that he promised to finance).

Next up is Shark-turned-Roadies judge Ashneer Grover. The controversial investor put in a sum of Rs 2.95 crore, honouring 11 out of 21 deals in this process.

Lenskart founder and CEO Peyush Bansal spent over Rs 2 crore, honouring 9 deals despite promising funding for 27.

Just like Peyush Bansal, Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal also invested Rs 2 crore for 7 deals. He had otherwise committed to 24.

Sugar cosmetics co-founder and CEO Vineeta Singh ranks among the lowest, having invested Rs 1 crore for 6 successful deals (out of 15).

While numbers suggest that Season 1 Shark and Mamaearth co-founder Ghazal Alagh invested only Rs 40 lakh, Alagh's numbers are incomplete as she only participated in a few episodes.

Netizens and entrepreneurs have mixed reactions to these numbers. A majority feels that such financial records wouldn't help aspiring startups (except for their PR branding).
