EA's Respawn Entertainment has released a story trailer for their upcoming game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which sets the scene for the player's next adventure.
The trailer opens with an Uncharted 2-style scene of the protagonist, Cal Kestis, holding onto a ship for dear life as it falls off a cliff.
We get a first look at Merrin and Greez, back from the previous game, with Merrin sporting a new hairstyle and Greez sporting a new arm.
Dark times are closing in as Cal Kestis seeks out a safe haven far from the reach of the Empire. Cal must look beyond his lightsaber to find his destiny in the shadow of the Empire.
The trailer suggests that Cal and his crew may need to stop fighting and instead look for a safe place where they can rest and build their next move.
Cal believes that they have found a safe haven, but as is often the case in his adventures, things may not go smoothly.
The trailer hints that players will get to visit the massive city-planet and Imperial capital of Coruscant, in the game.
Merrin and Greez will join Cal as partners, with Merrin as a Dathomirian Nightsister who joined forces with Cal in the previous game and Greez piloting the Stinger Mantis.
We also got another look at our beloved droid, BD-1 - Cal's ride or die who will accompany us everywhere we go.
The trailer introduces a Jedi from the High Republic era who seems to be upset by the Empire's tyranny and reign and will likely be the main antagonist of the game.
The trailer shows snippets of new gameplay mechanics, such as grapples and telekinesis, which will be used for traversal and puzzle-solving.
Respawn has promised a ton of gameplay improvements, including the much-requested fast travel feature.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be launching on April 28 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S platforms.
