Travelling feels a bit more normal, now that Covid-19 restrictions have eased up. More and more people have been travelling; for holidays, work and so on.

Airports Council International, a trade association representing nearly 2,000 airports, released their 2022 rankings of the world's busiest airports. Check out the list.

1. hartsfield-jackson atlanta

Hartsfield-Jackson Int Airport in Atlanta, USA, has been the busiest airport for two straight years in terms of the number of passengers (93.7 million).

2. Dallas Fort Worth airport

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Texas, USA came in second on the busiest airports list, with 73.4 million passengers in 2022.

3. DENVER AIRPORT

Denver airport is the third airport from USA on the list, with 69.3 million passengers, even though it has mostly domestic flights.

4. Chicago O’Hare AIRPORT

Even though the airport hasn't picked up the numbers like the pre-pandemic levels, Chicago airport handled 68.3 million passengers in 2022.

5. dubai airport

Dubai has made it to the list for the ninth consecutive time, since it has also become a famous destination for tourists. Last year it had 66.1 million passengers.

6. Los Angeles AIRPORT

LA is another US airport on the list, with 65.9 million passengers. The number is still 25% less than 2019, but is slowly going back to normal.

7. ISTANBUL AIRPORT

Istanbul Airport in Turkey is on the list the first time; probably because of the hype it has been receiving in the last years. Last year it saw 64.3 million passengers.

8. London Heathrow airport

Heathrow is London's busiest and biggest airport, with more than 61.6 million passengers; up 217.7% from 2021.

9. DELHI IGI AIRPORT

The Indira Gandhi Int Airport in Delhi is the only Indian airport on the list (the first time too). It saw 59.5 million passengers last year; up 60.2% from 2021.

10. Paris CDG

Also among the top beautiful airports in the world, Paris's airport is back in the top 10 after two years off the list. It had 57.5 million passengers in 2022.
