Hyundai Motor India has launched the Hyundai Verna 2023, which could be a game-changer for the mid-size sedan segment in India.
The car has been introduced in its sixth-generation form after first being launched in India in 2006 when Indian car buyers were opting for economical but feature-rich sedans.
Hyundai has sold more than 4,65,000 units of the Verna in the Indian market from 2006 till now.
The introductory pricing for the new-gen Hyundai Verna starts from Rs 10.89 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 17.38 lakh.
The Hyundai Verna has a lower base price compared to all its class rivals except for the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
The Hyundai Verna is bigger than before with the best-in-segment wheelbase and width and a class-leading 528-litre boot space.
The new Verna features horizon headlamps, parametric jewel grille design, LED tail lights with a jewel effect and the logo embedded in the tail light.
The car gets a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine that makes 115 PS, and a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with 160 PS power that can take the sedan from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.2 seconds.
The 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.60 kmpl and the new 1.5-litre turbo GDI petrol engine delivers a mileage of 20.60 kmpl.
The car features a Bose premium 8-speaker system, a 10.25-inch HD infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 64-colour ambient lighting and more.
The sedan gets Hyundai's SmartSense suite of Level 2 ADAS safety tech that brings in Forward Collision.
