PM Modi is set to inaugurate a new integrated terminal at the Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands on July 18.

The construction of the terminal cost Rs 710 crore. It has been built to boost connectivity to the islands.
The terminal will now have the capacity to handle 50 lakh passengers annually.

The terminal spans nearly 40,800 sqm and comes with several sustainability features like a double Insulated roofing system.

Apart from LED lights, skylights to allow natural sunlight during day have been added to reduce artificial light usage.

An Apron has been built to house two Boeing-767-400 and two Airbus-321 types of aircraft.

Additionally, the terminal consists of a rainwater catchment system, an on-site sewage treatment plant.

The new addition to the airport will boost air traffic and tourism to the pristine islands. it will also bring employment to the islands.
