AKSHAY KUMAR'S
 2022 DISASTERS

by Shaurya Thapa

Akshay Kumar has a habit of doing anywhere between 3 to 5 films in a year.

In 2022, Khiladi Kumar appeared in 5 films, all of which proved to be critical and box-office failures.

The year started with Bachchhan Paandey in March, in which  he played a gangster/aspiring actor.

It received poor reviews and was instantly replaced by The Kashmir Files at the box office.

Then came the period biopic Samrat Prithviraj, where he played the titular hero.

Garnering mixed reviews, the film only grossed Rs 90 crore on a 150-300 crore budget.

In Raksha Bandhan, Kumar played a dutiful brother ensuring all his sisters got married.

Released in August to mark Raksha Bandhan & Independence Day, it still flopped.

Kumar ventured into OTT too, with Cuttputtli. Reviews were terrible to say the least!

He finally decided to end the year with Ram Setu that released during Diwali (& was a disaster).

Trolled right from the trailer itself, it managed to rake in only Rs 92 cr against a 150 cr budget.
