Miss India Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu made it to the absolute peak of beauty pageants with her Miss Universe win in 2021.
Harnaaz won the crown for India after two decades, becoming the third Miss Universe from India after Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta.
Harnaaz Sandhu celebrated a year of her Miss Universe journey with a video on Instagram.
Over the course of her year as Miss Universe, she advocated several important social issues; with menstrual equity being her priority.
Harnaaz Sandhu passed on the Miss Universe crown to her successor, Miss USA R'Bonney Gabriel on Jan 14, 2023. Sandhu's gown had portraits of Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta on it.
Even with all her Miss Universe duties, Harnaaz found time for her hobbies: horse riding, cooking, dancing, acting and singing.
Harnaaz clapped back at some people who trolled her for gaining weight. She revealed that she suffers from Celiac disease, and that she is perfectly comfortable in her own skin.
Harnaaz has a passion for acting and in an interview, she expressed her desire to work with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in future.
Her Miss Universe reign is over, but she will always remain the queen of our hearts for her impeccable fashion and being an inspiration.
