After four years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will finally unveil the new Parliament building on Sunday, May 28.

At least 20 political parties are boycotting the inauguration of the new Parliament, while 25 are attending it.

The new Parliament will showcase stunning artwork and include a ceremonial sceptre called Sengol, which will mark the transfer of power to the new Parliament.

The new Parliament will have a much bigger Lok Sabha, with space for 888 MPs. It is peacock-themed.

Previously, the Upper House could hold 284 seats; it now has 394 seats. It is lotus-themed.

According to the project’s website, the new structure is a symbol of India's progress and will reflect the "aspirations of the 135 crore Indians”.
