The 13th edition of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 is about to kickstart tomorrow and 10 teams will be competing to grab the title. Take a look at the teams that have won the title previously.

The English team, after a long wait, claimed the 2019 World Cup following a thrilling match against New Zealand, which got to super over ending in a tie, with the match being decided by boundary count.

The Lankan Tigers held their sole World Cup title in a showdown in Lahore, where they defeated Australia with Captain Ranatunga, Sanath Jayasuriya and Chaminda Vaas as the star performers.

The West Indians literally dominated the game in the 70s, and rightly so. England hosted the 1975 inaugural Cricket World Cup, where the Windies defeated Australia at the Lord's.

The West Indies secured their second consecutive title in 1979, beating the host, England with top performances from Vivian Richards, Joel Garner and Collins King, in the final.

Australia, as a cricketing powerhouse dominated the game for more than two decades, where they won a total of 5 ODI World Cup titles.

Allan Border and Steve Waugh captained the team to victory in 1987 and 1999, while Ricky Ponting lifted the Cup on both occasions in the 2000s. The most recent title win, in 2015, was achieved under Michael Clarke.
