Miss Universe 2023 was the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, held at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador on 18 November. This year special for various reasons.

This years title was won by Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua. This is the first time a contestant from Nicaragua has won the contest.

Michelle Cohn from Guatemala made history as the first-ever mother to compete in the event. The 28-year-old, who is both a model and an entrepreneur, has two children.

Miss Colombia Camila Avella, is the first married woman and also mother to take part in the show (the second person in history too) and reached the top 5.

The 22-year-old model, Rikkie Valerie Kollé, is the second transgender individual to race for the Miss Universe crown. The first one was Angela Ponce of Spain in 2018.

In October 2023, Marina Machete made history by becoming the first transgender contestant to be crowned Miss Portugal. She now is the third transgender woman for the show.
