A new internet obsession is right here! We just got tired of finding our names on Urban Dictionary and now here’s another one. But this one is not as lame as searching names on Urban Dictionary. It’s a game in which you have to use your brains and test your vocabulary. It is called Wordle. And everyone on the internet is playing this right now.

WHAT IS WORDLE?

Wordle is an online game that has gained huge popularity on Twitter recently. In this game, you have to guess a five-letter word and you will get six attempts to do it. This game will test your vocabulary and thinking ability too. The limted number of attempts also creates a curiosity. 

HOW TO PLAY WORDLE?

1. You have to start with guessing one word in this game. Start with one word. Any.
2. As you start guessing the word, you will know which letter is placed right.
3. As you keep entering the words, the letters which are not present in the result word turns grey.
4. The letters which are present in the result word but are placed at the wrong spot turns yellow.
5. If the letters of the guessed word are present in the result word and are placed at the right spot, it turns green.
6. You have 6 chances to get the word right.

A BIT OF ITS HISTORY

Wordle is developed by Josh Wardle, who is a Brooklyn-based software engineer. Josh is obsessed with crosswords and puzzles. He first developed this game for his partner Palak Shah and they both enjoyed playing it. “It’s really sweet. This is definitely how Josh shows his love,” Palak told The New York Times.

In an interview with The New York Times Wardle said, "I wanted to come up with a game that she would enjoy. Wordle is not trying to do anything shady with your data or your eyeballs. It’s just a game that’s fun."

Later, he shared this on his family WhatsApp group and everyone got addicted to it. Then finally he released it in October 2021. The New York Times report also mentioned that on November 1, 90 people played the game and two months later more than 3 lakh people played.

WHAT IS TODAY’S ANSWER?
