Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has strongly condemned the attack on Shaktiman the horse during a BJP protest in Uttarakhand.
A staunch supporter of animal rights, Kohli expressed his anger on the microblogging site, Twitter:
Shocked & disgusted at the unprovoked attack on a beautiful, harmless animal. Nothing more cowardly!!! (1/2)

Meanwhile, BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi, who had beaten the Uttarakhand Mounted Police horse with lathis which resulted in the amputation of the poor animal's hind leg, has been arrested in Dehradun.

Joshi had defended his position earlier stating that he was being targeted by the Congress.
