The Ukraine-Russia War is in its eighth day, with no signs of de-escalation in sight. More than 2,000 Ukrainian civilians have died since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has claimed.

In the middle of the conflict between the two nations, the people of Ukraine are trying their level best to escape this devastating war. While many people are queueing up at borders, several are inside bomb shelters and bunkers.

Many Ukrainians have taken to social media to share visuals from the warzone and bomb shelters. People are scared, tensed and terrified about the war between the two nations; but there are a handful of incidents happening amid chaos inside bomb shelters which tell us that there is hope at the end of a dark tunnel.

Here are 6 such incidents from Ukraine that bring hope and display sheer resilience in the face of the devastation that is the Ukraine-Russia War.

1. COUPLE GETTING MARRIED

The Russian forces have been raining missiles, shelling Ukraine, and sirens have been ringing on the streets of the country. But what comes across as a ray of hope amid all this is a couple who got married inside a bomb shelter in Odessa, a city in Ukraine.

The pictures of the couple are going viral on social media.

2. A BABY BRINGS SMILES

In another incident from the bomb shelters, a woman gave birth to a baby girl. This incident took place in a subway in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

Indeed, life finds a way.

3. CHILDREN SINGING THE KYIV ANTHEM

Another heart-wrenching video came in from Kyiv, Ukraine, which is making the internet emotional. In the video, children hiding in a bomb shelter can be seen singing their national anthem.

4. SHELTER FOR ANIMALS

Not just humans; animals too are facing the consequences of war. The bomb shelters are open to animals too. A Twitter user shared a picture of a basement bomb shelter that is being used for dogs.

This is not the only post. Many Ukrainians have shared pictures with their furry friends.

5. JOURNALIST REPORTING FROM A BOMB SHELTER WITH HIS CAT

A war reporter from Ukraine has been reporting from one of the bomb shelters. And he is accompanied by his cat. He shared a picture on Twitter with his cat and wrote, “In the bomb shelter with my cat. She’s been very brave.”
