What you need first is masala. You can buy the packet from the market but nothing beats the home-made masala.

What you need to make chai masala
Dried ginger (50 gm)
Nutmeg (5 gm)
Cinnamon (15 gm)
Peppercorn (10 gm)
Clove (15 gm)
Green cardamom (15 gm)
How to make it
Dry roast the ingredients in a small pan for 1 minute
Then put the roasted stuff in a blender
Your masala is ready and will be good for consumption up to six months if kept in an airtight container
How to make masala chai now
Boil 1 cup of water in a pan
Add a table spoon of masala when the water starts to boil
Add 2 table spoons tea leaves
Boil for a minute
Add a cup of milk
Bring to boil
Once the milk starts boiling, turn the flame to simmer
Add sugar (optional)
Your tea is ready. Sieve it and have it.
