Kunal Kamra has been quite a vocal critic of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In one of his stand-up comedy shows, he says,”yaar mere aur Ambani ke beech mein Modi ji kya kar rahe hai. Main seedha Ambani ji ko vote kyon nahi kar sakta (What is Modi ji doing between me and Ambani. Why can't I directly vote for Ambani)," and the audience bursts into laughter
In a fresh controversy, Kamra shared a video clip of a child singing a song for PM Modi in Berlin. The clip was edited with another song from the movie Peepli Live ( 2010) and was intended to mock the PM.
In the original video, the seven year-old child sings a patriotic song, "Hey Janmabhoomi Bharat." Watch it here:

Kamra was criticized for this act by the child’s father, Ganesh Pol.
He is my 7 year old son, who wanted to sing this song for his beloved Motherland . Though he is still very young but certainly he loves his country more than you Mr. Kamra or Kachra watever u areKeep the poor boy out of your filthy politics & try to work on your poor jokes https://t.co/ECnBFSIWkI

The child's father also spoke to India Today regarding the video and said he will take legal action against Kamra.
“Keep my son out of your dirty politics.” Father of the Indian kid in Berlin whose singing video with Modi has landed comedian Kunal Kamra in a Twitter fire, spoke to me today. Do listen in full. More nuanced than you’re probably expecting. pic.twitter.com/wafMWDM8XG

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) also criticised Kamra for using a child to further his political agenda. NCPCR asked Twitter to take down the video and take action against Kamra. Though Kamra has deleted the video, the controversy around it is still not over.
Here are 3 instances when Kunal Kamra got into a controversy:
1. THE ARNAB EPISODE
In an Indigo flight from Mumbai to Lucknow, Kunal Kamra came across his bete noire Arnab Goswami. And the inevitable happened. Kamra stood up and went on to taunt Arnab. In a two-minute video he posted on his Twitter account, Kamra is heard saying to Arnab, “Here, I am asking coward Arnab about his journalism and he is doing exactly what I expected him to do.” Throughout all this, Arnab kept quiet.

Soon after he posted the video on Twitter, supporters of Arnab lashed out at Indigo for letting their passengers being harassed like this. Indigo, later on after an investigation into the matter, imposed a six-month ban on Kamra, terming his act as offense under Level 1. Later the ban was reduced to three months.
But all through this, Kamra remained unapologetic about it.
2. MIDDLE FINGER TWEET TO CJI
Kamra landed in another controversy in November 2020, when he mocked the then Chief Justice of India, Sharad Arvind Bobde. In a tweet, Kamra said, “One of these fingers if for CJI Bobde…ok let me not confuse you it’s the middle one.”

Actually, Kamra was pissed off with Supreme Court of India when it granted an interim bail to Arnab Goswami in a 2018 abetment to suicide case.
After the tweet, contempt proceedings were filed against Kamra by the Attorney General KK Venugopal for obscene and derogatory comments against the CJI.
3. APEX COURT A BRAHMIN BANIYA AFFAIR
Kamra again found himselp in hot water when a lawyer filed a plea in SC against him for calling the Apex court a "Brahmin-Baniya” affair in a show of his titled 'Be Like'.
Known for being unapologetic, this is how Kamra reacted to the plea.
