Flipkart and Amazon festive season sales: What's in it for you
Amazon and Flipkart are back with festive season sales to bring more cheer to consumers looking to get their hands on smartphones, home appliances, and other consumer gadgets ahead of Diwali.
The two – as recently as last month – faced off against each other during a period of sales that brought with them offers on a wide range of products. Apart from being great for the customers, round one of the pre-Diwali sales also resulted in great business for the e-commerce sector in general, which is now set to grow by more than 25 per cent for the full year after a sluggish first-half performance, reports Livemint.
As per the report, during the Big Billion Days sale, Flipkart generated gross sales of more than Rs 5,000 crore, while Amazon India saw gross sales of Rs 2,500-2,700 crore in its four-day Great Indian Festival sale.
Now, Amazon and Flipkart will look to improve on those numbers with the second round of sales, which start today (October 4) for Amazon, and tomorrow for Flipkart. Both these sales, however, end on October 8.
Let's take a look at how offers and deals from the two e-commerce giants stack up against each other.
Amazon Great India Festival
Amazon India's "The Great Indian Sale" has something for everyone. With offers on gadgets, fashion, large appliances and other segments, Amazon is looking to give competition to Flipkart's flagship sale. With the ongoing sale, the e-commerce giant is not only looking to bring in new customers but also plans to reward its existing ones with perks.
Amazon Prime members are being given special offers including cashbacks for Amazon Pay. There is also a 10 per cent cashback discount for customers making purchases using CITI bank credit or debit card cards.
Coming to the deals, Amazon is offering discounts up to Rs 20,000 on laptops, with up to Rs 15,000 off on exchange on select models. The e-commerce giant is also giving up to 80 percent off on clothing and apparel.
There are great deals on smartphones too, with Xiaomi's Mi Max 2 getting a discount of up to Rs 2,000. Televisions and hard disks are also available for as much as 40 per cent off, while accessories like headphones and power banks are being offered at 60-65 per cent discount.
Flipkart Festive Dhamaka Days
Flipkart's sale, which kicks off tomorrow, also brings with it great offers that run through the next four days. However, apart from direct discounts and offers, Flipkart has also announced what it calls "Dhamaka Offers" that will be available twice a day. These deals, Flipkart claims, will provide big discounts on popular products but will only go live twice a day – once at 1pm and then at 10pm.
The platform has tied up with Axis Bank and will be giving an additional 10 per cent cashback to customers for purchases made during the Flipkart Festive Dhamaka Days.
Though more would be known tomorrow when the sale commences, Flipkart's Festive Dhamaka Days, for now, promises “up to 70 per cent discount on top brands”, exchange offers, and no-cost EMIs.
Users can also avail up to 60 per cent off on laptops, camera, accessories and more with buyback guarantees on select products.
