If you're a Disney adult, you can now live in a real Disney home. Wait, what?
Are you able to talk to animals? Sing more melodiously than Snow White? Do you think you have an archetypal villian in your life? Well, then you may just be a Disney adult. And don't worry, unlike most of Disney princesses, you don't have to be white to qualify as a Disney adult.
In essence, a Disney adult is a person who is able to vote and absolutely loves all things Disney, whether it be old-school Mickey or new-age Marvel.
As per Urban Dictionary, a Disney adult is a "millennial adult, with or without kids, that can't stop talking about Disney, including the movies and the parks. Even if they do have kids, they're still way more obsessed with it that their kids ever would be".
And there is good news for Disney adults!
The company, Disney, announced on February 16 that it is developing Storyliving by Disney, that are residental complexes infused with Disney magic. The first neighbourhood known as Cotino will be developed in the Coachella Valley, California, US; also known as the Greater Palm Springs area.
The Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro said in a press release, "For nearly 100 years, Disney has shared stories that have touched the hearts and minds of people all around the world. As we prepare to enter our second century, we are developing new and exciting ways to bring the magic of Disney to people wherever they are, expanding storytelling to storyliving. We can’t wait to welcome residents to these beautiful and unique Disney communities where they can live their lives to the fullest."
Cotino is expected to house people of all ages with a seperate section for residents above the age of 55. Buyers will also have the option to choose from estates, single family homes and condominiums.
The complex is planned to have a 24-acre oasis with clear water using Disney's Crystal Lagoons technology. Cotino will also have a 'waterfront clubhouse, a club-only beach area and recreational water activities' combined with Disney-themed activites all year round. This is all accessible with a club membership. Disney has not yet announced when the houses in Cotino will be functional and open for sale.
But before you decide to pack up your bags, here are some signs you should look for to make sure you really are a Disney adult:
1. DISNEYLAND PARKS ARE ALL OVER YOUR BUCKET LIST
Disneyland California? Check. Disneyland Paris? Check. Disneyland Florida? Check. Disneyland Japan? Check. If this is what your bucket list looks like and you have a detailed itinerary for each of them, it's time to start looking for a Disney adult sticker for yourself.
2. DISNEY CALENDAR OVER ANY OTHER CALENDAR
Do you wait with bated breath for the release of Disney's movie calender and plan your work holidays such that you get to watch the first show to avoid spoilers? Yeah, it's time to call yourself a Disney adult.
3. MUSIC MEANS DISNEY SOUNDTRACKS
If your friends suggest having a karaoke night and the only songs you want to sing are Disney or you have a dedicated playlist for Disney songs... we are quite happy to tell you that you are a classic Disney adult.
4. DISNEY COUPLES ARE YOUR REAL-LIFE COUPLE GOALS
If watching Cinderella and Prince Charming or Rapunzel and Flynn Rider makes you cry like a baby and question your entire love life, then it's time to accept that you are a Disney adult and start looking for your Disney partner.
