An old, tried-and-tested survival technique in the Bigg Boss house has been to enter into romantic relationships. Give viewers a sneak peek into a few cuddles and some intimate hugs.

Real or fake?
We wouldn’t know, just as we would never know whether the show is scripted or really, the reality show it claims to be.
This season of the show has however failed to see any romantic relationships blossom in the house. The Anup Jalota-Jasleen Matharu relationship that drove many people to the show initially was later claimed by Jalota to have been a ploy of the show organisers.
Jalota never spelt out why the show organisers would have done this, but then, it wouldn’t take a genius to figure it out.
The twelfth and the current season of the show, however, can thus far be wrapped into one dedicated to Rakshbandhan.
Everybody is everyone's sibling in the current edition of the show. At least, apparently so.
Boring plot?
No.
To add spice to the bhai-behan storyline, the show has seen one ‘behan’ accuse her ‘bhai’ of staring at her and making her feel uncomfortable.

Commoner contestant Surbhi Rana was seen telling Romil Choudhary, who is also a commoner contestant, that he should stop staring at her as it made her feel uncomfortable and that this was no way for a man to look at a woman whom he refers to her as his sister.
Later, Romil was seen crying and complaining that Surbhi had maligned the ‘brother-sister’ bond. Other inmates too empathised with Romil, saying Surbhi crossed the line in a bid to be outrageous — because outrage expressed outrageously is the stuff Bigg Boss thrives on.

But Romil has another 'sister' in the house — Somi Khan. And the equation between Somi and Romil too is going through troubled times. Somi is miffed that Romil has repeatedly referred to her as a weak contestant behind her back.
But it is not just the commoner contestants who are desperate to get out of the house and buy a rakhi or a gift to be given for tying the rakhi.
Cricketer S Sreesanth and television actor Dipika Kakar too are playing the ‘bhai-behan’ role well.
They fight over dosas if it turns out squarish instead of round in shape.

Dipika, it seems, apparently entered the house only to play sister to Sreesanth and take care of all his tantrums.
Despite all the emotional sobs and hugs and fights and what not, all that the sibling game does is make the show boring as hell.
If we can’t have love blossom, can we please just have men and women play as friends — or, shcoking though the thought might be, unrelated individuals?
You always have TV soap operas for the emotional torture. Let Bigg Boss not become that.
