Often accused of being ‘fake’, Dipika proved her critics – both inside the house and out of it – wrong by winning the hearts of her fans, to take home the winner’s trophy and the winning cheque.
Called the ‘most dignified lady’ in the house by show host Salman Khan, Dipika had quite a tumultuous stay emotionally.
Even though she came to the show with the advantage of being a celebrity, the win wasn’t easy for TV star Dipika because the competition in the house was tough. While it did look at one point that Dipika would have it easy, the emergence of 'commoner' Deepak as one of the favourites made Dipika’s chances look bleak.
She was also pitted against many other celebrity contestants, who included fellow TV actors such as Neha Pendse, Karanvir Bohra and former cricketer S Sreesanth.
Having acted in the successful television show Sasural Simar Ka, Dipika came in with a dedicated fan base – but many people in the reality show, such as Deepak Thakur and Romil Choudhary, earned many fans during their stay in the house.

It is for this reason that Dipika Kakar’s victory was not an easy one.
She was seen crying and often complaining that people in the house did not understand her and called her ‘fake’.
Kakar won the game despite not forming close bonds with too many people in the house. In fact, Dipika only formed one relationship in the house through her stay. Kakar played the dutiful sister to former cricketer S Sreesanth, and solidly stood behind him through thick and thin.
The melodramatic 'bhai-behan' drama that Dipika and Sreesanth provided to the show seems to have won many hearts.

With the winner now declared, it’s curtains down on Bigg Boss Season 12.
The Indian adaptation of Big Brother, Bigg Boss was first launched in 2006 and has enjoyed a successful run for the last 12 years.
Termed one of the most controversial shows, Bigg Boss has experimented a lot with its format in all these years.
Till about Season 10, the show was mostly about celebrity contestants. But things drastically changed as 'commoners' started entering the house and giving tough competition to the celebs Season 11 onwards.
However, Dipika Kakar’s win has proven that star power is still what keeps Bigg Boss going.
Over to the next season then – and a big congrats to Dipika Kakar!
