SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion seems to have created a new definition of success. According to a report in Box Office India, the Prabhas- and Rana Daggubati-starrer has earned an excess of Rs 500 crore worldwide over the weekend, with a whopping Rs 385 crore collection in India and Rs 121 crore overseas.
While the movie’s merits as good cinema is definitely debatable – it has received criticism for pandering to the majority – the VFX, the cliff-hanger and just the larger-than-life experience (one that the first one definitely had) made people flock to the theatres to catch this mythological flick.
Baahubali 2’s success has been something of a phenomenon. Karan Johar, who is marketing the Hindi version of Bahubali 2, tweeted, "Unthinkable and unimaginable highest day 1 ever. Data being tabulated; will take a while."
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s tweet gave more insight into the film’s undeniable success, "As per early tracking estimates, Bahubali 2 (has) opened bigger than Sultan (Rs 36.54 crore) and Dangal (Rs 29.78 crore)."
And while millions want to enjoy India’s answer to the Lord of the Rings on the big screen to experience its full glory, there are of course those who don’t want to spend money to do that. These, of course, are people who want to pirate it, and it’s already out there.
According to a report in IBTimes, the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 has been leaked online in the Middle East. The movie has been circulating in the app called Telegram. Earlier, the Tamil version got leaked online.

While this leak was not big news, and thus not too many people knew about it, it most certainly did not stop people from searching for ways to download the movie illegally. The search term “baahubali 2 full movie download” had reached an all time high on April 29, and has been a constantly searched term.
Not just in India, but also in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and many other countries, people have been trying to look for pirated copies of the movie. It is a testament to the film's global popularity that so many people are literally trying to break the law to watch the film.
In any case, the makers of Baahubali should be least worried because this is a movie which is best watched and enjoyed only on big screen.
