The Delhi MCD poll results have once again proven without a doubt that the saffron wave is here to stay. Even as the counting continues, with 181 out of 270 seats, it is obvious that the BJP has won this round with flying colours. BJP’s victory in the MCD polls is not surprising at all considering it will be the party’s fourth consecutive victory in MCD polls, but neither is Aam Aadmi Party’s reaction to this loss.
Almost a stereotype now, AAP leaders seem to have trouble digesting defeat of any kind. Following an increasingly asinine trend, AAP leaders have unceremoniously attributed their unsurprising defeat in the MCD polls on EVM rigging. While party chief and CM, Arvind Kejriwal is yet to speak on the issue, other party members have happily stuck to the tune of poll rigging. Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, on Wednesday, April 26, claimed that EVM rigging was the cause of BJP’s victory in the MCD elections.
Party leaders like Gopal Rai and Ashutosh have claimed that EVM tampering is the reason behind BJPs performance in Delhi, as well.

"The BJP has been governing the MCD from past ten years and all know that they have done nothing and still the way the BJP is winning is nothing less than a miracle. This miracle is not an outcome of Modi wave but is the result of EVM wave," said Rai.
“It’s difficult to digest that despite halving electricity rates, giving water for free, improving schools and hospitals, people haven’t voted for AAP,” said Ashutosh to ANI.
AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha told NDTV, “You can’t blame us for using the EVM bahana after losing; we’ve been saying so for the last month”.
This is after all not the first time a “sour grapes” excuse like this has been made.
Following the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati had alleged that the voting machines had been rigged by the BJP. Arvind Kejriwal had made similar allegations about machines used in the Punjab Assembly polls. The problem with allegations like these is that none of the parties, who make them, are consistent with their remarks. It is only when they lose, that they resort to such excuses.
Of course, what AAP should consider is that while they have been doing decent work in Delhi, it is histrionics like this is what leaves a huge dent on their image and credibility. This constant complaining has given the party an image they will have a hard time recovering from.
Ex-APP and present BJP member Shazia Ilmi called the Delhi CM a “Drama Queen”. Even on the social media, AAP’s EVM allegations have gotten them an enormous amount of flak.
AAP lost because rigged EVMs..............jaise faaltu issue ka shor machaana bandh nahin kiya Kejriwal ne.

Perhaps it is time that the Aam Aadmi Party stops throwing blame on everyone and starts taking up some responsibility.
