In an unfortunate turn of events, the organisers of Sunburn announced that the headliner act David Guetta’s concert, scheduled for later tonight, is cancelled. The organisers, in a Facebook post, cited law and order issues following the molestation incident during the New Year's Eve as the primary reason for scrapping the show.
“We as Sunburn tried our very best to make it happen but the authorities understandably are not prepared to take any chances. Hence today's concert unfortunately stands cancelled. We shall try to reschedule the concert subject to approval from the artist & the authorities. We will be back with more information as soon as possible,” they said.
Guetta, a French DJ, and a Grammy award winner, had performed in India before in 2012. "India is a magical place. The energy that I get from the country and the fans creatively inspires me. Music can change lives," Guetta had said last month.

Obviously, the cancellation of this event has caused the social media to return back to their outrage about Bangalore and safety. And while it is paramount that safety is ensured for all, especially women, the organisers cancelling an event of this scale, based on the “advice” of authorities, is a bit disconcerting. It’s not wrong to assume that the Bangalore law enforcement authorities have admitted their incompetence in controlling revelers.
All Bangalore police had to do was make sure no chow mein was served at the David Guetta concert.
