The next Apple iPad operating system is all set to release on June 6 at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, but there has been a major design leak.
Reports suggest that the iPad’s new software update could solve a major problem. For the longest time, iPad users have struggled to multitask on the device, and iPadOS 16 is expected to have a redesigned multitasking interface.

The announcement of iPadOS16 is expected to be the biggest announcement at the conference and Apple intends to make the iPad more like a laptop and less like a phone with OS16.
As of now, iPad users can only run apps in a full-screen view or run two apps simultaneously but with OS16, users will be able to open three apps together, by sliding the third app from the side onto the screen.
Post the announcement, OS 16 will be beta released for developers, then a public beta test will be done and the final release of OS 16 will take place in the last quarter of 2022.
Other than iPad OS16, Apple plans to announce new software updates for the iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV as well an updated iPad Pro, four new iPhone 14 models, three new Apple Watches and several Macs with next-generation M2 chips this year.
