In today’s IPL match, Delhi Capitals (DC) will be facing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
So far, Delhi has played only two games in the tournament. They won the first match against Mumbai Indians (MI), but lost the second game to Gujarat Titans (GT).
Lucknow, on the other hand, made a good comeback by winning the last two games after losing the first match to Gujarat.
While Lucknow has the likes of KL Rahul, Avesh Khan, Elwin Lewis and Quinton de Kock, Delhi also has strong lineup with players like Rishabh Pant, Khaleel Ahmad, Kuldeep Yadav, Prithvi Shaw and Lalit Yadav.
Here are six players to watch out for in today’s match:
QUINTON DE KOCK (LSG)
The South-African batter opens the innings for Lucknow with captain KL Rahul. Quinton de Kock had a good knock of 61 off 45 balls in the second match, against CSK. He loves to attack the ball especially in the power-play overs. Delhi bowlers will have to find out a way to get rid of him early.
DEEPAK HOODA (LSG)
Deepak Hooda has been in a great form this season. Out of three games he has played, Hooda has scored two half-centuries. Lucknoow purchased him at Rs 5.75 crore during the auction. Hooda’s game, like De Kock's, is attacking in nature. He likes to go after the ball from the get go.
AVESH KHAN (LSG)
Avesh Khan has been phenomenal with the ball this season for Lucknow. The Madhya Pradesh bowler has clinched seven wickets in the three matches he has played. He got his career best (IPL) of 4/24 in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Today, Avesh will be up against Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert.
LALIT YADAV (DC)
In the last two matches, Lalit has scored a total of 73 runs. In the first game, against Mumbai, he scored 48 off just 38 balls. The Delhi Ranji player had come to the limelight when he hit six sixes twice in a domestic match.
RISHABH PANT (DC)
The Delhi captain has huge responsibilities this season. Last year he took the team to the playoffs, but lost the semi-final game against KKR in a close game. Pant would be hoping to lead Delhi to the IPL title for the first time. Pant scored 43 runs in the first match. In the second game he scored just one run.
KHALEEL AHMED (DC)
Khaleel Ahmed has been bowling very consistent this season. In both the games he has played so far, Khaleel has taken two wickets each. There was a heavy auction battle between Mumbai and Delhi to get Khaleel. His base price which was Rs 50 lakh, but it shot up to Rs 5.25 crore and ultimately he was snatched by the Delhi.
