Ladies and Gentlemen! It looks like the ring is heating up for a cage fight between tech titans Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. But the two are yet to make it to the cage for the real fight. So far, the Titans have been engaged in a social media war on their respective platforms X and Threads App.
- In the latest, Elon Musk said on X that the Zuck vs Musk cage fight will be live-streamed on X and all the proceeds will go to charity for veterans.
- Musk is also saying that he intends to use the WWE style of combat. He also revealed he's been lifting weights, even at work because he doesn't have a lot of time to work out.
So, how and when will the cage fight be held?
- The cage fight, if it happens, is likely to take place at The Octagon in Las Vegas. It is a fenced-in area used for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bouts.
- Mark Zuckerberg had asked Musk for the location of their cage fight and Musk had responded with "Vegas Octagon".
- Mark Zuckerberg responding to Elon Musk lifting weights, said that he's ready "today". But he had also suggested August 26, which has not been confirmed by Musk.
- The Meta CEO also took potshots at Musk when answering a Threads App user's question about whether the cage fight and live streaming will really happen.
- The "funding secured" comeback was with reference to Elon Musk falsely stating in 2018 that he's secured funding to take Tesla private. He later had to pay $20 million in fines after investors sued him.
- Also, with regards to Musk's announcement on live streaming the fight on X, Zuckerberg replied with a retort suggesting a "more reliable" platform that actually raises funds.
- Twitter (now X) under Elon Musk had failed embarrassingly when Republican candidate Ron DeSantis announced his Presidential bid exclusively on the platform only to encounter technical glitches.
- Also, Instagram and Facebook have built-in fundraising features that X does not have.
Who can win the fight?
- It's difficult to say who will win the fight given that neither have any experience in professional fighting, have a huge age gap, and are also in two different weight categories.
- Mark Zuckerberg is 39, 5 feet 7 inches in height, and reportedly weighs about 70 kg. He's also trained in Jiu-Jitsu and has a blue belt. He's also training as an MMA fighter.
- Musk on the other hand is 51, stands tall at 6 feet 2 inches, and reportedly weighs 136 kg. He's only started training in various martial arts skills and reportedly has been certified by a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. He also claims to be trained in judo and Kyokushin karate.
- According to Elon Musk, he has a good chance of winning if the fight is short. But if it's dragged out, then it is likely that Mark Zuckerberg wins on endurance.
- Musk has been going around saying that he's likely to use "The Walrus" move to win, where he just lies on top of his opponent till he's called the winner.
