Ahmedabad man sells Fruit Chai with banana and cheeku for Rs 200 in viral video, all hell breaks loose

A man in Ahmedabad, who calls himself IAS Chai Waala sells a Fruit chai at Rs 200 by just mixing a banana and sapodilla fruit in regular tea.

Experimenting with beverages is fine, but when it comes to tea, Indians are quite emotional. We do not accept any unnecessary adulterations in our tea. When someone does so, he or she invites unfathomable trolling.

So, after MBA Chai Waala, we have another chaiwala in town, who calls himself IAS Chai Wala. Though MBA Chai Wala doesn't spoil the tea, but this IAS Chai Wala from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is doing so.

What

He mixes a banana and cheeku -- yes, the fruits -- in regular tea and then calls it 'Fruit Chai'. In video going viral on social media, the man is seen dropping a banana and cheeku (sapodilla) in regular tea and leaving it to boil before serving it in a paper cup.

Marking his recipe as 'exclusive', and the 'first in this world', he has attached a hefty price tag too: a cup for Rs 200.

Poori duniya mein aaj tak nahi bana hai. Yeh sirf IAS Chai Wala pe hi milega aapko  (Nowhere in the world has tea ever been prepared like this. It’s only at IAS Chai Wala that you will get this),” he says in the video.

He also has suggestions for the ones who are willing to prepare his unpalatable tea: Isme chai patti aur cheeni aur fruits ke ilava kuch nahi daalna hai. Warna iska taste alag ho jaayega (Do not mix anything apart from tea leaves and sugar along with fruits; otherwise it will taste different).

Irony might have died at this point.

People react

One Twitter user, Mohammed Futurewala, replied, "Mila tha ye bhi hamein, par baksh diya (I met him, but then, I spared him)."

Another user wrote, “Future bahut bright hai iska (This man’s future is bright).

Yet another Twitter user had a hilarious comment, “Iske liye ‘Garuda Purana’ mein kon sa dand likha huwa hai, batane ki kripa karen (Please tell me what punishment this kind of a crime deserves according to Garuda Purana).”

Not the first time

This type of horrible experimentation with tea isn’t the first one, unfortunately.

A man in Kolkata also sells Chocolate Chai, where he mixes chocolate in tea and then boils it before serving.

A YouTuber reviewed the tea: Chai ke saath bahut bura huwa hai ye (Gross injustice has been done to tea).

For us Indians, tea is more than a refreshment, and more to do with emotions. Perhaps that should be part of 'IAS' coaching too...
