Matters took a turn for the worse between Ukraine and Russia on Day 6 of the Russian invasion. Russian forces continued shelling indiscriminately in Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine. A 21-year-old Indian student from Karnataka, Naveen Shekharappa, was killed in the shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The Ministry of External Affairs said it was in touch with Naveen's parents in Karnataka.
The MEA has also asked all Indian citizens to leave Kyiv at the earliest.
Kharkiv was seized by Russian forces earlier before the Ukrainian forces took it back.
On the other side, a massive column of Russian military convoy is seen fast approaching the capital city of Kyiv. Several more civilian and military casualties have been reported.

UKRAINE AND RUSSIA TO HOLD SECOND ROUND OF TALKS
Ukraine and Russia are set to hold a second round of talks on March 2, 2022. The first round of talks was held on February 28. Kremlin had said that it was too soon to assess the outcome of the talks.
UN SEEKS URGENT FUNDS
The United Nations has sought $1.7 billion urgently for sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

NATO Chief said that Russia's President has shattered the peace in Europe by launching an invasion of Ukraine.
PM MODI SPEAKS TO KILLED INDIAN STUDENT'S FAMILY
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Naveen Shekharappa's father and offered his condolences. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that he knew Shekharappa's family well and assured that the government will try its best to recover the body. Bommai also said that two other persons were with Shekharappa when he died and that one of them got injured.

UKRAINE ASKS EU TO GRANT MEMBERSHIP

Zelenskyy asked the European Union to prove that they are with Ukraine during his address at the European Parliament. Zelenskyy had asked the EU to make them immediate members of the EU. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also reiterated the same.
ZELENSKYY ADDRESSES EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the European Parliament and said that Russia's shelling of Kharkiv city amounts to 'war crimes'. He also said that Ukrainians want to see their children alive. At the end of his speech, Zelenskyy received a standing ovation from the members of the Parliament.

The Indian External Affairs Ministry confirmed the death of an Indian student, 21-year-old Naveen Shekharappa, during shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine. EAM spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that the ministry is in touch with his family in Karnataka.

In one of the deadliest incidents of shelling so far, Russian forces struck the second largest city in Ukraine, Kharkiv, with missiles and more. One video shows a Russian missile hitting the administration building in Kharkiv.

70 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in shelling in the Sumy region. Ukraine also accused the Russian forces of using a vacuum bomb, which is considered to be the most deadly non-nuclear bomb. Ukraine claimed that the use of thermobaric weapons violated the Geneva Conventions.

Ukraine said that 9 civilians were killed in one day of Kharkiv shelling, including 3 children. 37 people have been wounded in the strike and 87 residential buildings have been destroyed.

Ukraine has claimed that Belarusian soldiers have also joined the invasion and have captured the Chernihiv region in northern Ukraine.

Ukraine shared an image of children from an orphanage taking shelter from the war saying that the world needs to stop Russia from its current invasion.

YOUTUBE BLOCKS RUSSIAN CHANNELS
YouTube blocked Russian channels RT and Sputnik in the whole of Europe in response to the ongoing war. The Russian media has been accused of sharing misinformation regarding the war. Similarly, Twitter is putting up warnings for sharing links belonging to the Russian state-affiliated media.

Ukraine released a list of losses incurred by the Russian forces and claimed that over 5,700 of their soldiers have been killed in the war so far.
