Open letter to Arunachal CM Pema Khandu: Investigate Kalikho Pul's death

Dear Sir,

It's my humble submission that  deceased former chief minister Kalikho Pul's death must not be treated as "one of the cases".

It is not. It was not. You know it. I know it. I think everybody knows it.

He wasn't a chicken-hearted soul. I have known him. I am sure you would concur with my view. You have known him as well. I hope we both agree on his strong character.

He was a battle hardened fighter who could take a raging bull by the horns.

Therefore, I demand that his death be treated as a priority case that deserves investigation by credible agency like NIA or CBI.

Further, I demand that his hand-written notes which are rumoured to be around 80 pages long and have been titled "Mera Vicchar ( My Thoughts)" be made public without any manipulation.

I am informed that his notes - "Mera Vicchaar" - have been handed over to the state police department, which has sealed them, but longer you take to make them public, bigger the suspense would be.

Make those notes public as soon as possible. I believe this would be to your credit to bring in transparency to his mysterious death.

Former Arunachal Pradesh CM Kalikho Pul was found dead on August 9 at the chief minister's bungalow in Itanagar which he was yet to vacate.

Even today, we witnessed flash mob vandalising public properties. I repeat that was a flash mob; a mob that loved him.

Today, I saw love for Pul sir, despair of the situation in the eyes and faces of old-young, rich-poor, vegetable vendors-students, who all rushed to the official CM bungalow upon hearing the terrible news. They left their schools, closed down their small businesses. Such was the spontaneity.

Everybody said: "Pul sir could not have committed suicide just like that. He must have left some information or message for the masses."

I believe his message must be there in those notes.

He was a public figure so make his notes public.

Sincere regards.
