Good day, world.
It has barely been one day since America elected a racist, sexist, orange-skinned demagogue and the world is already somehow a little more dark than it ever was (barring the actual dark ages). Yes. Americans ushered in Donald Trump as their next President, effectively undoing the eight-year long misunderstanding the world had that electing a black president meant America was somehow less racist now.
But fear not. Now that Trump will be sitting in the Oval Office, launching random nuclear attacks at “the moslems” and using tax Dollars to build a wall blocking Mexico, the people, who voted him in, have somehow, found validation in blatant misogyny, racism and hate crime.

Trump's Presidency is a wakeup call. And it has no snooze button. Embrace the doom, folks. |
After all, what can you expect when despite being the guy who has been accused by several women of sexual harassment, having called all Mexican rapsits (you can see the irony here), having bragged about "grabbing pussy"; you get elected the President the friggin’ United States of America. It perpetuates the idea that cis-gendered, straight, white males can do anything and everything without it causing too much of an inconvenience to their lifestyle.
The lack of accountability and the overwhelming validation of racism and sexism have already started taking form of a monster that is going to threaten the very existence of people of colour in America. African American, Hispanic, Muslim, Sikh, Indian, Pakistani or just about anyone who isn’t white can no longer feel safe and social media, over the last 24-hours, has substantiated this claim with overwhelming proof.
Guys, a trump supporter tried pulling off my hijab... This is not a joke anymore, all non-whites have become targets. Stay safe ????

Maybe this is a good thing. Because at least the racists, sexist friends and neighbours that you have always had (but never knew about) will now come out of the closet, and people will no longer have to pretend that America is any better than the most horrific dictatorial regimes, where hate crime and genocide and ethnic cleansing has been commonplace.
This is a wakeup call. And it has no snooze button. Embrace the doom, folks.
