An un-screwed New Shepard rocket by Blue Origin, carrying 36 research experiments crashed shortly after liftoff on September 12, 2022.
The capsule carrying experiments managed to parachute to safety back to Earth, said Jeff Bezos' space company, Blue Origin.
"Booster failure on today's uncrewed flight. Escape system performed as designed," Blue Origin said on its website.
Blue Origin, LLC is an American privately funded aerospace manufacturer and sub-orbital spaceflight services company founded by Jeff Bezos,
Executive Chairman of Amazon.
This was the 23rd flight for the New Shepard program by the Blue Origin and it's first failed launch.
"The booster impacted the ground" instead of landing upright but there were "no reported injuries", said the Blue Origin website.
NS-23, was first set to launch on August 31, but was delayed due to inclement weather in West Texas, US.
Other details of the failure haven’t been disclosed.
