Wipro, the Bengaluru-based multinational IT company, announced the appointment of Aparna C Iyer as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on Thursday, September 21. Here's everything you need to know about the IT giant's new CFO.
Who is Aparna Iyer?
Aparna C Iyer has taken on the role of Chief Financial Officer at Wipro.
Expressing her enthusiasm for her new position, Aparna said, "I am thrilled to assume the role of CFO at this crucial juncture for Wipro." She looks forward to collaborating with Thierry Delaporte and the entire organization.
Upon Aparna's appointment, Wipro's CEO Thierry Delaporte commended her as an accomplished and results-driven leader. He added, "Throughout her 20-year career with Wipro, she has consistently been a dynamic, forward-thinking strategic partner to our business leaders."
Thierry Delaporte also noted, "Her commitment to creating lasting value, her expertise across the full spectrum of finance operations, and her experience in collaborating with various stakeholders will be instrumental in achieving our financial objectives."
Educational background
- Aparna Iyer earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from Narsee Monjee, Mumbai, in 2001, all while simultaneously pursuing her chartered accountancy.
- In 2002, Aparna achieved the distinction of being the gold medallist in that year's Chartered Accountant (CA) batch.
Succession
Aparna C Iyer will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Jatin Pravinchandra Dalal.
Wipro announced that Jatin Pravinchandra Dalal is stepping down "to explore other career opportunities."
About her new role
Effective September 22, 2023, Aparna C Iyer will officially assume her role as CFO.
She will report directly to Wipro's CEO and Managing Director, Thierry Delaporte, and will also become a member of the Wipro Executive Board.

- Aparna Iyer joined Wipro in 2003 and has held various finance positions over the years, including Internal Audit, Business Finance, Finance Planning and Analysis, Corporate Treasury, and Investor Relations (IR).
- Most recently, Aparna served as Senior Vice President and CFO of Wipro FullStride Cloud, overseeing finance operations for one of Wipro’s fastest-growing global business segments.
- Prior to her role as CFO of Wipro FullStride Cloud, Aparna Iyer held the position of Corporate Treasurer and Head of Investor Relations for Wipro Limited.
- In her capacity as Corporate Treasurer and Head of Investor Relations at Wipro, Iyer was responsible for developing and executing the forex risk management framework, managing surplus cash investments, overseeing working capital, evaluating customer credit risks, steering capital allocation decisions, managing balance sheet exposure, and nurturing relationships with investors and analysts.
