Uber has introduced "Uber Green" services in Bengaluru, Karnataka, allowing users to book environmentally friendly rides using electric vehicles.
The inaugural Uber Green vehicles were officially launched by Karnataka IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge at Bengaluru Palace during the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023.

- On Thursday, the ride-hailing giant Uber introduced "Uber Green" services in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
- The feature is currently available in various sections of the city, mainly in central Bengaluru, with plans underway to expand the service to additional locations.
- Starting today (Friday), riders in many city areas will find the Uber Green option on their app when booking rides, offering a sustainable choice with new, quiet, and clean electric vehicles.
- This allows users to reserve environmentally friendly rides using electric vehicles.

Uber India President Prabhjeet Singh expressed Uber's unwavering commitment to sustainability and highlighted Uber Green as a step in that direction.
He mentioned that the launch in Bengaluru is the second introduction of Uber Green in the country, with the service already operational in Mumbai and gaining popularity among riders.
