Ever since the Russian Federation began its armed attack against Ukraine on February 24, 2022,
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena Zelenska,
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife, Olena Zelenska, took time out to pose for a Vogue photoshoot, as the couple featured on the digital cover of the August edition of the magazine.
Photographer Annie Leibovitz captured the couple in a series of shots, seemingly a testament to their marriage surviving the Russian siege on their country. The Ukrainian President is seen donning his familiar olive green getup, embracing the his wife in one, and holding hands across a table in another photo.
The cover photoshoot has made Twitter go into a frenzy, with many criticising the President Zelensky's priorities and see the move as insensitive and pandering to Western influence.

Zelensky is "fighting for his life" in Ukraine but has time to meet with Hollywood celebrities and corrupt politicians, preach about the need to transition to "green energy," and appear in Vogue magazine. Put the war on hold while I pose for photoshoots. It's always been a scam.

While the Ukrainian President and his family have consistently campaigned and received global sympathy in light of the Russian invasion for the better half of the entire year, this photoshoot does seem in poor taste and brings the President's motivations under closer scrutiny.
