Pakistani snooker World Champion Ahsan Ramzan, 17, brought back pride and recognition for his country, but the country's police do not seem to recognise his contribution. Ramzan was detained by Lahore Police on Wednesday night for playing snooker at a snooker club late at night.

Lahore Police raided the snooker club where Ramzan was practicing with others at around 11.30 pm on Wednesday, August 2. They demanded that the club be closed.

In 2021, Ahsan Ramzan set a new record becoming the second youngest snooker player in the world after Chinese player Yan Bingtao to win the World Amateur Snooker Championship. Recently, he also won the U-21 Asian Snooker Championship 2023.
