IIT Guwahati, which is home to more than 1,800 students, has seen two deaths in a month. On Monday, January 9, a fourth-year BTech student was found dead under mysterious conditions. The guy's name was not released by the institute but it was found that he hailed from Nagpur, Maharashtra and was living in the campus hostel and was found dead in his room.
Previously, on December 10, a faculty member was found hanging in the faculty quarters on the institute's campus in North Guwahati. The professor was from Delhi and worked in the Department of Mathematics.
Police are investigating both cases. According to sources, the student was found dead in his single bedroom in the Dihing hostel.
Latest update: The blanket of mystery was finally removed from the student's death when the autopsy report came in today, January 11.
According to the autopsy report, the student was suffering from 'Chronic Coronary Insufficiency'.
But what is Chronic Coronary Insufficiency?

He adds that when the artery is blocked it leads to a reduced blood supply and less supply of oxygen to the heart, sometimes causing heart failure.
Heart failure at a young age?
Heart diseases have become the number one enemy of Indians. However, Dr Shyam also points out that this kind of condition generally catches you up in old age when your blood vessels get thin.
According to him, Chronic Coronary Insufficiency can get you at a young age only when you have high cholesterol levels, leading to the blockage of your arteries.
