Dinosaur footprints on UK beach leave locals scratching their heads

Imagine walking your dog by the beach and stumbling upon something amusing... a trail of unusual-looking footprints in the sand. Footprints that are unusually large and do not make sense...

The footprints do not resemble the feet of any living animal or bird today, and you can only wonder what it is and what these pairs of feet are doing here. You might momentarily think of how these might resemble dinosaur feet, but what are they doing here?
Wait, are dinosaurs back? (I mean, given the way the world is going, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see dinosaurs back among us, no?)

Now, do you see how a trail of big footprints on a beach led you to think about dinosaurs?

This is exactly what Apple TV+ did to bring the world's attention to their new series on dinosaurs. The new series is called Prehistoric Planet, and is narrated by Sir David Attenborough.

SO, WAS THIS A GIMMICK?

Yep. But it was a good one.

The residents and dog walkers of Pembrokeshire, South Wales, UK were left baffled when they saw giant footprints resembling that of dinosaurs, along the local beach. There was a trail of 64 Tyrannosaurus Rex footprints, each a meter long, along the golden sands of Traeth Llyfn. The large footprints that led into the sea might have definitely led some people to believe that they had suddenly been transported into another world overnight.

THE INITIAL REACTION

A team of 10 sand artists worked with paleontologists to design the footprints and spent more than four hours creating the 50-meter-long prehistoric trail. Their remarkably detailed efforts soon caught the attention of the baffled locals.

Local passerby Anna Hatton, 72, said, 'I saw these giant footprints from up on the cliff path and came down to take look. It’s amazing how big they are up close.’

Alex Bull, 32, was walking her dog along the beach when they encountered the art installation. She said, 'I saw these footprints and my dog went running up to them and I was like, what on earth could have made these?'

SO, WHAT IS THIS REALLY ABOUT?

Prehistoric Planet is Sir David Attenborough's new five-part dinosaur documentary-series that is being streamed on Apple TV+. The documentary series promises to take viewers 66 million years back in time, when the 'majestic dinosaurs and extraordinary creatures' roamed the earth. The series has been called 'jaw-dropping' in scale – and the closest any of us are likely to get to visiting Jurassic Park.

Prehistoric Planet will air across five nights on Apple TV+, starting May 23 to May 27 and new subscribers can watch it for free with the Apple TV+ 7-day free trial. Here is the official trailer of the documentary:

The first couple of episodes are out and people are sharing fantastic reviews of the documentary series especially because of how real it looks on screen.
