Blackpink Jisoo is likely coming back with a new K-drama. The idol is considering a lead role in the series Influenza, by the writer of the Oscar-winning movie Parasite. Influenza is an original series for a new South Korean streaming platform Coupang Play.

Jisoo earlier debuted as an actor with the K-drama Snowdrop alongside Jung Hae-in.
Jisoo's agency YG Entertainment confirmed the offer saying:
Influenza is just one of the dramas that Jisoo has received offers for and is considering.

Other than Jisoo, Park Jung-min has been offered the male lead role in the series. Park is best known for his performances in the movies Bleak Night (2011), Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet (2015), Keys to the Heart (2018), and Deliver Us from Evil (2020) and dramas like Hellbound. He also authored a best-selling book titled A Useful Person.

Influenza is a highly anticipated work by writer Han Jin-won, best known for Parasite, which won him Best Original Screenplay at the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020.
