Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant engaged in Rajasthan

Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Chairperson Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, got engaged to Radhika Merchant, the daughter of Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant today. The engagement took place at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Nathdwara is 48 kilometres from Udaipur in Rajasthan.

Anant and Radhika have been in a relationship for several years now, and Radhika is seen at all events hosted by the Ambani family.

The announcement of Anant and Radhika's engagement comes just days after Mukesh and Nita Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani flew down to Mumbai from the US with her twins and husband Anand Piramal.

A statement from the Ambanis said, "The Roka (engagement) ceremony of Radhika Merchant, daughter of Shaila and Viren Merchant and Anant Ambani, son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani was performed at the Shrinathji Temple at NathDwara in Rajasthan today in the presence of family members and friends and blessed by the priests of the temple. The young couple spent the day at the temple seeking Lord Shrinathji’s blessings for their upcoming union and participated in the traditional Raj-bhog-shringaar ceremonies at the temple. The family and friends will  together celebrate the happy occasion later today."

Who is Radhika Merchant? Radhika and Anant have been together for several years now.

• Radhika is the daughter of Viren Merchant, the CEO of Encore Healthcare, and Shaila Merchant.
• Radhika studied in Mumbai, at the Cathedral adn John Connon School and Ecole Mondiale World School.
• She then moved to New York for her higher studies. 
• Radhika graduated in politics and economics from the University of New York.
• Radhika is a director on the Board of Encore Healthcare.
• She is a classical dancer, trained under Guru Bhavan Thakar of Shree Nibha Arts dance academy of Mumbai.
• Earlier this year, the Ambanis hosted an aarangetram ceremony for Radhika Merchant in Mumbai.

Radhika Merchant keeps a low profile, and shares a close relationship with Isha and Nita Ambani. At the weddings of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal; and Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, Radhika was seen along with the Ambani family.

Anant and Radhika have known each other for a few years. They will get married in the coming months.

Radhika and Anant are childhood friends. A photo of theirs went viral in 2018, and the speculation that they were in a relationship began.

Over the years, Radhika has been part of every major event that Mukesh and Nita Ambani have hosted.

Anant and Radhika's engagement also comes a day after Dhirubhai Ambani's 90th birth anniversary.

Anant Ambani completed his studies in the US, at the Brown University. After his education in the US, he has served at Reliance industries in various capacities including as a member on the Boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures. Anant currently leads the energy business of RIL.
