Kanye West is no more a billionaire thanks to Adidas. The German company on Tuesday (October 25) announced that it has cut off all ties with West, now known as Ye, after he made a series of antisemitic remarks.
A few hours later, Foot Locker and then Gap also announced that they will also immediately remove all Yeezy products from their stores.
Why? Kanye has recently received a lot of flake over his comments from not only a lot of celebrities but also companies. He was also locked out from his Instagram and Twitter accounts after he posted antisemitic comments on these platforms.
But out of all the companies and agreements he got ousted from, Adidas is the one that would cost him a lot of money and even lead him to cease being a billionaire, according to Forbes.
However, Ye's relationship with Adidas has always been a roller-coaster ride.
Let's take a peek at the rapper's relationship with this sportswear.
After first designing for Nike, West signed a deal with Adidas in 2013. In June 2016, Adidas and West announced they had extended their partnership, calling it a "Yeezy-branded entity creating footwear, apparel and accessories for all genders across streets and sports."
