5 viral stories from NEET 2023 achievers that are pure gold

The results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023, were released on June 13 and the pass percentage this year was 56.21%. After the results, heartwarming success stories began trending all over social media.

But before getting into these success stories, here's what NEET is.

  • NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a competitive entrance examination conducted in India.
  • It is the primary entrance examination for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate medical and dental courses (MBBS and BDS) in various government and private medical colleges across the country.

If you're an Indian, you know the pressure that comes along with these competitive exams. This year, as the pass percentage has increased by 15%, a lot of inspiring success stories of students are emerging on social media, captivating people's attention.

Here are a few of them: 

1. Ganga Aarti performer clears the exam

Among all the stories that emerged after the NEET results were announced, this one particular story is gaining significant attention. Vibhu Upadhyay, hailing from Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, secured the 622nd rank in NEET. However, he is renowned in his district for another remarkable feat - he has been actively participating in the Ganga Aarti ceremonies. 

I go to do the aarti whenever I get the time and I will keep doing that in the future also.

Vishu credited his success to 'Ganga Maiya' and said that he managed his studies along with the Ganga Aarti ceremonies. He said that he has been doing it since 2019 at the ghats in Kachhla in Badaun district.

What also caught everyone's attention was Vibhu wearing an MS Dhoni CSK jersey while giving interviews to the media!

2. Twin daughters of Kashmir Imam fulfil mother's dream

Syed Sabiya, who aspired to be an IAS officer, had her career path influenced by her twin sister, Syed Bisma, who was passionate about pursuing MBBS. For these 19-year-old twins, clearing NEET was actually fulfilling their mother's dream, who always wanted her daughters to become doctors.

  • They hail from a remote village, Watoo, in South Kashmir's Kulgam district.
  • Their father, a religious cleric leading prayers at a local mosque, and their mother, a school teacher, are 'proud to see their daughters fulfilling their dreams'.

3. Daughter clears NEET after the death of auto driver father 

Prerna Singh, a 20-year-old from Kota, cleared NEET after facing immense difficulties. After the untimely demise of her father, who worked as an auto driver, the family faced a financial crisis. They received a notice from the bank to vacate their house, leaving them feeling robbed of their inspiration and hope.

Prerna, being the eldest sibling and burdened with the responsibility of her four younger siblings, as well as the daunting task of repaying a loan of Rs 27 lakh left behind by her father, made a firm determination to achieve something significant in life.

She dedicated countless hours to studying, often sacrificing meals to ensure she could afford the resources needed to pursue her dreams and cleared the exam.

4.  Truck mechanic's daughter secures 192nd position

Arti Jha, a 21-year-old from Agra, cleared the NEET exam by securing the 192nd position all over India. Despite facing financial constraints as the daughter of a truck mechanic, Arti displayed remarkable dedication to her studies. According to PTI, to avoid falling asleep and disrupting her study routine, she would study without the fan switched on. 

For the past four decades, Arti's father, Bishambhar Jha, has been working as a truck mechanic. 

She will be the first doctor from the family. It is a very big achievement in the family. Despite financial problems, she has managed to crack the exam

5. 20-year-old painter from Kashmir clears the exam

Umer Ahmad Ganie, a 20-year-old residing in the village of Zagigam in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, clearing the NEET exam also made headlines.

Despite working as a painter to support his family, Umer displayed exceptional dedication and commitment to his studies. With a score of 601 marks, he cleared the exam and became popular in his entire village. 

For the past two years, I have been working as a labourer during the day and then studying in the night. I also work as a painter. I vowed to study hard and qualify NEET and by the grace of God, I have achieved success
