Buying a Taylor Swift concert ticket through Ticketmaster is like waging a Great War, with most fans being dissatisfied in the end.

The sudden suspension of sales in Paris and Lyon left eager fans unable to secure tickets for the upcoming event.

The root of the issue

The problem appears to stem from a "technical malfunction" on the Ticketmaster platform, preventing users from logging in with their passwords. The high demand for tickets led to an overwhelming number of fans, with over 700,000 individuals in line, all vying for the limited availability.

From the outset, the Ticketmaster website struggled to cope with the surge in traffic. Even fans who accessed the ticket purchase page early encountered difficulties, as a "technical error" prevented them from completing transactions.

The latest update

Ticketmaster France released a statement today (July 12) morning stating, "The Eras Tour in France is postponed, and tickets are still available. This morning's sale was disrupted by an issue with a third-party vendor, who is working to resolve the problem as soon as possible."

Swift is performing six concerts in May and June 2024 on Swift’s Eras Tour — four shows in Paris, two in Lyon

History repeats

The situation in France mirrors the frustrations experienced during Swift's North American presale in November. Ticketmaster's systems were overwhelmed by millions of fans, including bot accounts, resulting in tickets disappearing from shopping carts before they could be purchased.

Consequently, Ticketmaster suspended the public sale, although the company claimed to have sold over two million tickets for the tour in a single day.

This incident led to a legal case filed in the LA County Superior Court, alleging that Ticketmaster holds a monopoly on both primary and secondary markets.

The complaint accuses the ticketing platform of engaging in fraudulent practices and various antitrust violations, including price discrimination and price fixing.

Twitter outrage

Fans who attempted to secure tickets for Taylor's France tour took to Twitter to express their frustration. Here are a few examples of their tweets:
