Luxe living

As immersive experiences go, this one is unbeatable - a sky pool suspended between two luxury London apartment buildings will allow its residents to literally float through the air and look down with ten storeys of condescension.

And that's not even the half of it. The best part, the so-called sky pool at the Embassy Gardens development , will boast a transparent floor. The pool will reportedly be 25 metres long and made out of 20 cm-thick glass panels, with a water depth of about 1.2 metres. By comparison, the CN Tower's (Toronto) glass floor is 6.35 cm thick, at a height of 342 metres. Reports suggest that the pool-conjoined towers are part of a huge complex that will include 2,000 luxury flats, with sky high starting prices of approximately £600,000 or $1.2 million. Now that's considerable bang for buck.

Auction: Auto

Most expensive single car collection auctions for $67 million

For wheel fanatics, this was the one to look out for. A record breaking auction of private automobiles fetched more than $67 million at the RM Sotheby's flagship Monterey sale, held during the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance week in California, this week.

The Pinnacle Portfolio became the most expensive single-car collection ever sold during one auction. The staggering amount was collected by the sale of twenty-five cars, all owned by an anonymous Florida collector. While a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM lead the sale by going under the hammer for $17.6 million, a 1998 McLaren F1 LM road version fetched $13.75 million, making it the highest price ever paid for a McLaren at auction; a Koenigsegg CCXR that appeared in the movie "Fast Five" sold for $825,000.
