Day 3 on the 27th edition of Amazon India Fashion Week’s most fascinating addition was an accessory show on Friday. The fashion crowd wanted more and they got it.
Here are the top trends from day 3:
1. Vaaliyan by Nitya Arora, Werifesteria by Vasundhara and Mine of Design presented by Sahai Ambar Pariddi took the art of jewellery annd body adornments to a differet level. Vasundhara’s collection embraced wilderness with incorporating natural rocks, filigree, leaves, twigs, branches, jeweled insects, bugs and butterflies. Sahai Amber’s collection explored the essence of the sea. Beautiful pearls and coral shells elegantly adorned the collection.
2. Nitya Arora’s "Modern Mughals" was all elegance and celebrated the richness and grandeur of the splendid Mughal dynasty. Pankaj and Nidhi in their collection revisited the military patterns across ages and drew inspiration from the European military cavalries from the 18th and 19th centuries. Badges, medals, cord-work, braids on blue, green and earthy hues in embellished and bejewelled structures were modern yet traditional. Also, stunning!
3. Sanchita’s collection brought a galaxy feel with interesting structures, embroidered bomber jackets, net tops, polka dot tights, lighted sweatshirts and shirt dresses. Anti-fit, boxy, edgy sneakers and laced-up ankle boots. Unusually catchy!
4. Anupamaa by Anupama Dayal brought Nagaland’s cultural influences to the ramp. The wrap dresses, the accents, elephant prints on tunics, off shoulder tops, kaftans and exotic headgears brought the northeastern charm to the collection.
5. Ujjwal Dubey’s Antar–Agni collection was applauded for its minimal, unusual and edgy silhouettes. Pleated dhoti pants, asymmetrical kurtas, unisex waistcoats and interesting hairdos for men. Neat and regal.
6. Rohit Kamra stood out with cutwork and gingham jackets and Divyam Mehta’s with animal printed sneakers, bandhgalas, samurai bottoms. Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti had a bohemian feel to the collection with broad trousers, long-pleated shirts, capes, beautiful embroidery and the light ornamentation had everyone’s approval.
7. Chandrani Siingh’s collection "Mrityunjay" was a tribute to the most enigmatic and source of all power, Shiva. Bringing the elements of formal and casual together with a modern touch yet keeping the traditional Indian craft traditions in mind was a wave of freshness. Tones of Indigo, green, ash grey, dust and rich yellow complimented the silhouettes.
