Political slogans have always been the darndest things.
From ‘Ab ki baar Modi Sarkaar’ to ‘Dehen karo Modi ki Lanka, behen Priyanka,’ there’s more talent in those IT cells than there is on most of the podiums these slogans are delivered on.
But this time, Rajnath Singh jumped the bandwagon.
Retorting to Rahul Gandhi’s successive and tireless attacks on PM Narendra Modi, with his ‘Chowkidaar chor hai’ jibe, Home Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a powerful comeback at a rally in Moradabad.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Moradabad: Main kehna chahta hoon chowkidaar chor nahi hai, balki hamara chowkidaar pure hai. Agli baar usko PM banna sure hai, aur yahi bharat ki samasyaon ka cure hai. pic.twitter.com/KRhMVg2ZNr

“Main kehna chahta hoon chowkidaar chor nahi hai.
Balki hamara chowkidaar pure hai.
Agli baar usko PM banna sure hai.
Aur yahi bharat ki samasyaon ka cure hai.”
Unfortunately, though, there was no beatboxing at the background when he delivered these lines — with a measured pause in-between, clearly sticking to the rhythm.
Does that make Rajnath Singh the Rally Boy? We guess so!
That Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy has caught the fancy of both the BJP and the Congress is something most of us have already figured through their official social media feed. And quite frankly, there’s no ‘azadi’ from that, is there?
But Rajnath Singh evoking his inner Ranveer Singh is a sight we honestly thought we’d never have to see.
And so did Twitter.

There's a typo. "yahi bharat ki samasyaon ka core* hai".

In all this, it is Ranveer Singh who gets to drop the mic, not Rajnath Singh.
For Gully Boy just got a bigger boost than Uri did.
