Our own Katrina Kaif has set a new benchmark by uploading her selfie, all groggy, ruffled hair, puffed-up face without make-up, just after waking up in the wee hours of dawn on Instagram, with the caption: “me being me in my bed”.
The picture has garnered over three billion hits already and people just can’t seem to get enough of it.
“Just out of bed yet soo beautiful, Kat you rock…” tweeted one of her fans, @justanotherdesi.
“A welcome break from reading yet another ‘Parineeti Chopra sets Internet on fire in sultry monokini’-type post. Oh god, this is so natural, spontaneous and surreal. We need more…,” gushed another fan, @nothing_better_todoinlife.
The picture is earning reviews from Katrina’s contemporaries as well.
“Katrina ma’m has now set another impossible benchmark for us, yaa,” wailed Bollywood diva, Disha Patani, famous for her brand of sizzling pics.
“I was just about to load my latest photos of coming out of a pool in a sizzling black bikini with red polka dots in Seychelles, but now it is back to the drawing board. God, I’ll have to work really hard to look beautiful just after getting up from sleep. Maybe, I’ll get up at 4:30am and do some Yoga and then drink fruit juice. Then I’ll upload my picture. What do you think?” she revealed her thoughts to Daily O.
Even celebrities from all walks of life tweeted their appreciation of Katrina’s brave move to click herself just after getting up.

Politicians, even CMs and Cabinet ministers, soon followed suit.
“Heartiest congratulations to Katrinaji for setting Internet on fire by making morning selfies fashionable,” MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan was one of the first of his ilk to get off the mark.
“Katrinaji has set a new benchmark in simplicity and transparency. Modiji, are you seeing this? Proud of you Katrinaji. Yeh aam aadmi ki jeet hai,” tweeted Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
“After seeing Katrinaji’s morning picture, I hereby demand my own resignation,” was the verdict from a stunned Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
However, events took a disastrous turn thereafter.
