India's star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been severely injured after his car met with an accident while he was returning home from Delhi. Pant was driving his Mercedes when the accident took place near Roorkee in Uttarakhand. Currently, his condition is stable.
"Cricketer Rishabh Pant's car met with an accident between Manglaur and Narsan in Haridwar district. He has been shifted to Max Hospital Dehradun after giving primary treatment at Roorkee Civil Hospital. Accident took place on NH-58 of Manglaur PS area," SP Dehat Roorkee Swapan Kishore told ANI.

What happened? Director General of Uttarakhand Police, Ashok Kumar, has confirmed that the cricketer was alone in the car at the time of the accident. The car was a Mercede-AMG GLE43.
Latest update: "Cricketer Rishabh Pant is under the observation of Orthopedics & plastic surgeons. His condition is stable. His detailed medical bulletin will be released once he's examined. Thereafter, we'll take the next steps," Dr. Ashish Yagnik, Max Hospital, Dehradun, said, addressing the media.
Injuries:Pant has suffered fractures on his leg and injuries to his forehead. He is undergoing MRI for further examination of injuries on ankle and knee. There is a possibility that the cricketer may need plastic surgery for the burn injuries on his body.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed officials to ensure all possible arrangements for the treatment of Rishabh Pant and to provide an air ambulance if required, the CMO office said.

Pant was part of the Indian team that had won the Test series against Bangladesh earlier this month. He had scored some good knocks of 46 and 93. However, he was left out of India's squads for both the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka. The BCCI press release did not specify whether Pant was injured, rested, or dropped.
