Welcoming Angad

  • Jasprit Bumrah, after the match against Pakistan at Kandy in Sri Lanka, temporarily stepped away from the Asia Cup 2023 and headed to Mumbai to be by his wife's side for this special occasion.
  • His absence from the team was due to 'personal reasons', which have now been revealed as the birth of their first child.
  • "Our little family has grown, and our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning, we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and can't wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it," said the couple on Instagram.

Sanjana and Jasprit's relationship

Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan's love story has been a tale of discretion and charm. The couple tied the knot at a private ceremony in Goa in March 2021, keeping their relationship away from the public eye. Shortly after, their wedding photos took the Internet by storm.

Bumrah in the Asia Cup 2023

  • Jasprit Bumrah recently led the Indian cricket team during the T20 series against Ireland. Prior to the Irish tour, Bumrah was away from the Indian team for some time due to a back injury.
  • During the Irish tour, he showed promising rhythm, gaining back his form and fitness, which earned him a spot in the Asia Cup squad.
  • Unfortunately, rain played spoilsport on Saturday (September 2) during India's match against Pakistan, forcing a delay in his comeback.
  • However, the Indian team is set to face Nepal on Monday (September 4), where Bumrah will not be part of the Playing XI.
  • He is likely to rejoin the team the Super 4 stage onwards.
