The picture is quite clear now weeks before WrestleMania 39. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will now take on The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) with Solo Sikoa on their side for the WWE Tag Team Championship match at the mega event. This implies that Cody Rhodes will now face Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship match.
What it means for the big event? Since the 'Tribal Chief' Roman Reigns is the reigning champion for the last 933 days, the sixth longest for any WWE champion since 1998, the company would not hesitate to let Cody Rhodes take the belt as he has been getting favorable response from the WWE Universe.
Since his return at WrestleMania 38 last year when he took on Seth Rollins and defeated him, Rhodes was expected to headline main events in the pay-per-views. The company got him to win the Royal Rumble, as he entered at number 30. Even before the Rumble, it was expected for him to win the 30-man-battle royal and get the belt.
After winning the belt, Rhodes straightaway challenged Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship though it wasn't sure whether it would be a singles match, a Triple Threat Sami Zayn or a Fatal Four way with Zayn and Kevin Owens for the WWE Championship.
But on March 20, during Monday Night Raw, things got in shape. It was decided that it would be a one-on-one match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
How it benefits Cody Rhodes: 'The American Nightmare' is having a fabulous run in the company since he returned last year. Though an injury kept him out for few months, his return at WWE Royal Rumble was enough for fans to understand that he is there for the big shot.
Now that Sami Zayn is most probably out of the picture for the WWE Championship race, Rhodes is the mighty challenger for the belt.
With Zayn and Kevin Owens locking horns with The Usos, Cody Rhodes has got rid of two potential WWE belt contenders.
We don't know if there will be any last minute changes, but as of now, Cody Rhodes is the most favourite to win the WWE belt.
What the next week's RAW might look like: The last RAW before WrestleMania 39 is expected to have a dramatic finish as the rivalries will be given the final touch before the main event.
Apart fromthe Rhodes' storyline against Reigns, there is another storyline now with The Usos against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Next week on RAW, we might witness a 3 on 3 match with Owens, Zayn and Rhodes on one side and Reigns and The Usos on the other side.
What is going to happen at WrestleMania 39? Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn look favourites to snatch the title belts from The Usos at WrestleMania 39. The two are also getting a lot of appreciation from WWE Universe and have been the crowd favourites in the recent past.
For the main event, Cody Rhodes looks to have an upper hand against Reigns, provided there are no last minute changes in the plans of the company.
The rest we will know on April 1-2 at the SoFi stadium at Inglewood, California, US.
