From divorce rumours to the much-needed clarification, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and doctor-choreographer Dhanashree Verma's relationship has gone through quite a bit in the past few days.
Recently, the couple took to social media to put an end to all rumours about their split. The rumours started doing the rounds of social media when Dhanashree removed 'Chahal' from her name on her Instagram profile.
Meanwhile, Chahal's Instagram story saying 'New Life Loading', which came around the same time, added fuel to the fire.
But then, Dhanashree Verma recently wrote a lengthy post on Instagram, in which she talked about her knee injury. "But what has also got me through this is the support of my near & dear ones including my husband, my family and my closest friends," she wrote. The prominent mention of her husband in the post helped put the rumours to rest.
So, what has Yuzvendra and Dhanashree's relationship been like? Here's a timeline.
1. April 2020, met virtually (all thanks to Covid): The Indian spinner and the choreographer met virtually for the first time during the first Covid lockdown. Dhanashree revealed in an interview that the relationship started off as a teacher-student one in April 2020. Chahal noticed Dhanashree’s dance routine on social media and expressed interest in learning.
2. Student to lover: After Chahal approached Verma for dance classes, they soon turned into dates and the two fell in love.
3. August 2020, Roka: On August 9, 2020, the couple announced their roka. Instagram had pictures from their private roka ceremony. The couple shared pictures with both the families and wrote, “We said 'Yes' along with our families❤️ #rokaceremony.”
4. December 22, 2020; Wedding day: On December 22, 2020, the couple tied the knot and shared dreamy pictures from their wedding.
5. Instagram-favourite couple: Yuzvendra and Dhanashree soon became the internet’s favourite couple, thanks to their mushy posts and dance reels. The couple lived up to the 'Instagram couple' tag with regular lovey-dovey updates.
6. August 2022, divorce rumours: In August 2022, Dhanashree suddenly removed 'Chahal' from her official Instagram profile. This led to speculation around their relationship status, just like what happened with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.
This was followed by Chahal’s Instagram story on August 16, which read “New Life Loading”.

The internet lost no time in screaming, "Divorce!"
7. August 18, clarification time: The couple soon shared a combined statement:

8. Some more clarification: Dhanashree then shared a detailed post and signed off with the initials, "DVC".
That 'DVC' is a clear statement from the horses' mouth: Still married!
